Secretary:

5 Eden Park Close
Batheaston,
BATH, BA1 7JB

Visitors
Meetings are normally held on the first Saturday of each month (except for August) at the United Reformed Church Hall, Odd Down. There is free car parking. This is approximately two miles South of the centre of the city, at Rush Hill, near the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Frome Road. For satelite navigators the postcode is BA2 2QF.  Alternatively, bus 14 leaves  St James Parade (between the railway station and the bus station) in the direction of Odd Down at 15 minute intervals and takes approximately 15 minutes to reach Frome Road, Odd Down.. We meet at 2.30 pm until 5.30 pm.

There are usually twenty to twenty five players, including branch members, members from other SRP branches, and visitors.

If you:

  1. Enjoy playing the recorder, and
  2. can sight read reasonably well (there is always the chance that the person sitting next to you can play the tricky bits),

then you are very welcome to come. Please bring your own music stand. As an adult visitor this would cost £3.00. This includes tea in the interval and one or more of our renowned home made cakes. All music is provided. You can come two or three times as a visitor, but we would hope that you might join us as a member after that.

Membership
The annual membership subscription is £15 for students, £21 for adults or £32 for families. The subscription becomes payable on September 1st. This brings the quarterly Recorder magazine and supports the operating costs of the branch. In addition, members (and SRP members from other branches) pay £2 per monthly visit.

Other Activities
Extended 'playing days' lasting from 10am to approximately 4.30 pm are held twice each year, normally in June and December. The June playing day is usually extended to players of bass Renaissance instruments, and includes works for combined voices, recorders and Renaissance instruments. This has always proved to be hugely enjoyable.

Mention should also be made of the Jerrome recorder group, which is affiliated to the SRP. It meets once per week and gives a number of short concerts during the year, including a Christmas concert in Bath Abbey.
