BRANCHES

Durham Branch

Musical Director: Mary Tyers M.Mus., LRSM

Durham is one of the smaller branches, but, thanks to Mary, it is lively and enthusiastic. There are usually up to fifteen people at a session, including visiting members from other groups. The music is interesting, ranging from Renaissance to Modern, and as there are often three to a part newer players can join in without fear! It is only necessary to bring a music stand and recorder(s).

We meet once a month (except for April and August when there is no meeting) on the first Saturday, 2-5pm, 'in the upstairs room of Antioch House, which is in  the  centre of the city opposite St. Margarets Church. The charge for  visitors is  £3 (£1 for students) per session.

Parking in Durham is not easy, but there are several central car parks, and, perhaps more usefully, Park & Rides -
1) at the Carrville roundabout to  the  North,
2) on South Road by the Botanic Gardens to the South, and
3) on the  A690 from Lanchester to the West.
