The Society of Recorder Players - Edinburgh
How to get to our meeting place Augustine United Church
The church is in the centre of Edinburgh at 41-43 George IV Bridge EH1 1EL, just north of the junction with Chambers Street. The door has to be supervised when unlocked, therefore each arriving member takes over supervision from the preceding one, and waits until the next arrival. After the starting time, the door will be locked and anyone arriving late should ring the bell for admission.
Car parking restrictions are in force Monday to Saturday, 8.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday evening meetings (7.30 p.m.) are outside these restrictions, therefore cars may be parked without charge at any on-street parking place (except Disabled or Taxi) or single yellow line.
For Saturday afternoon meetings in the Central Zone it is necessary to find a long-term car park. You can Park and Ride, pay for an off-street park in the centre or park on-street (free) in the Peripheral Zone.
There is a list and map of central off-street parks on the City of Edinburgh Council website. The nearest car parks are at Niddry Street (0.6 km) Chalmers Street (0.7 km), and St. John's Hill (0.8 km). Slightly further are New Street/Waverley (1km), Castle Terrace (1 km) and Princes Exchange (1.1 km).
You can park on-street without payment on Saturday in the Peripheral Zone, for example Marchmont (beyond Melville Drive) is a 1 km walk across the Meadows.
Lothian Buses 23, 27, 41, 42, 45 pass the door. 2 and 35 are close by. For details see the bus map and then click the central rectangle for city centre routes.
