Guest conductor

Moira has been playing recorder since age of 7. She also took up cello and piano, and, from the age of 11, studied at Trinity College of Music in London as a junior exhibitioner.

She attended Trinity full time in 1970 for 3 years, leaving with LTCL and GTCL. Whilst there, she played with Edgar Hunt's Early Music group. She taught music in high schools for 13 years, when she retrained for Special Needs work. She now works freelance as a special needs advisor to schools, as well as teaching adult recorder pupils.

In 1975 she joined the SRP via Norfolk Branch and was a co-founder of Suffolk Branch in 1985. She was invited to join the pastoral visitors list in 1991 and enjoys conducting branches all over the country. She is the Training Co-ordinator for SRP and has introduced the workshops which are supported by the Arthur Ingram Fund. For these, she personally runs conducting and music theory days. A swing/jazz day is in preparation. She is the musical director of The Orwell Connection, a community choir in Felixstowe.

She has a wide range of musical tastes, although she admits a leaning to modern and jazzy pieces. She also loves Baroque music
