Rail – Travel to Edinburgh Waverley Station.
Walk up the ramp to Waverley Bridge, turn right to Princes Street and cross both
roads to the bus stop by the Old Waverley Hotel (opposite the Scott Monument)
for any of buses 3, 3A, 29, 31, 37 or 47.
Alternatively (if you can manage a long flight of steps) in the station go up to the overhead walkway,
then up Waverley
Steps to Princes Street and cross to the bus stop nearest to the shop Phones4U
for bus 8.
Air – Take the airport bus to Waverley Bridge and cross Princes Street to the bus stop by the Old Waverley Hotel. The airport bus runs about every 10 minutes. It takes 25 minutes and costs £3 single, £5 return (child £2 single, £3 return) but is free to holders of a Scottish Executive entitlement card marked C (concession). A taxi from the airport to Mayfield Salisbury Church would cost about £20.
Bus or coach to St Andrews Square bus station.
Leave the bus station and walk into St Andrews Square, where you can catch
the No. 8 bus, or walk on to the bus stop in Princes Street (by the Old Waverley
Hotel) for a
wider choice of buses.
N.B. If you arrive on a bus that comes in by the A701 (First Bus Nos. 62, 77 or
93), it will pass East and West Mayfield on the way; you should get off there and
walk to Mayfield Salisbury Church.
From the bus stops in Princes Street or St Andrews Square take any bus numbered 3, 3A, 29, 31, 37, 47 or 8 . Ask the driver for East and West Mayfield. Cross the road when you get there and walk a short distance along West Mayfield. The journey takes about 15 minutes. The fare is adult £1, child 60p (concession cardholders free).. Have the exact fare ready, as no change is given.
An alternative bus route is the 42 in Hanover Street or the Mound, which takes you to a stop in Mayfield Road close to the church.
Taxis are available in Waverley Station, on Waverley Bridge and on Princes Street. The fare to Mayfield Salisbury Church is about £6.
Travel by car. Parking is unrestricted on Saturdays in the streets around the church. You may use "residents" and other parking places without charge (but not Disabled).
