Recorder Orchestras

Affiliate Membership of the Society is available to Recorder Orchestras, the current annual cost being £35 (covers the Society's year from 1 September to 31 August).

Thames Valley Recorder Orchestra

Scottish Recorder Orchestra In June 2009 the orchestra, as part of the Scottish Festival, gave a performance under their conductor Eileen Silcocks. The final meeting of the year in Stirling included an Open Meeting, allowing friends and people from Stirling to experience the sound of a large group of recorder players in rehearsal. This was very successful, especially to the young recorder players in the audience. It is planned to perform a concert in the next session with a choir and will be at a venue in Glasgow.

Recorders Incorporated is a new recorder orchestra recently formed by Eileen Silcocks, made up of talented amateurs and professionals from the UK, Germany and The Netherlands, which gave its debut concert in January 2007.

Phoenix Recorder Orchestra which has it own Website) is conducted by Pam Smith, and rehearses in the Cheltenham/Gloucester area.

Conducted by Steve Marshall, rehearsals take place every month near Gloucester, and the music is carefully chosen so that most SRP or U3A branch members will be able to participate in the rich and exciting sound of a recorder orchestra. All instruments from sopranino to contrabass are welcome.
