SRP Festival 2012 – Application Form Now Available

Festival and Conference 2012 will take place at St Teresa’s School, Effingham Hill, nr Dorking, Surrey RH5 6ST
Saturday April 21, 10.00 a.m.  – 6.30 p.m. and Sunday April 22 9.30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

New Courses

Several new courses have been added to the Recorder Courses and Other Courses pages.

Recital of Baroque Recorder Sonatas

Stefan Pilczek is giving a recital of baroque recorder sonatas in London on 13th April. See the Concerts page for details.

Rubbra Concert in London

On 14th Februrary Ian Wilson directs an illustrated guide to recorder works by the 20th-century English composer, Edmund Rubbra and the music that inspired him at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. See Concerts page for details.

The West Dorset Branch programme and South London Branch programme are now available

Summer School of Renaissance Music

See the Other Courses page for details of the Noth West Early Music Forum Summer School of Renaissance Music at Trafford Hall near Chester in July.

Durham Branch programme available

The Durham Branch programme is now available, inluding a 25th anniversary Playing Day on 5th May.

Red Priest concerts

The Red Priest concerts for the first half of 2012 are now on the Concerts page

Recorder Players wanted in London

An  amateur harpsichordist is looking for recorder players who are interested in playing baroque chamber music together. See the Players Wanted page for details.

New Festivals page

There is a new Other Festivals page, which contains information about non-SRP recorder festivals and other music festivals and competitions of interest to recorder players. Currently it has information about the Reigate Music and Drama Festival and the Ealing Festival, both in May, and the Cheltenham Recorder Festival in August.

Peregrine Concerts

The Peregrine Recorder Orchestra is giving concerts in Bedford in May and Hitchin in July.
