Ensemble Tramontana
Living Water Satisfies Charity Café,
Crystal Palace,
London SE19 3AS
Ensemble Tramontana specialise in Medieval and Renaissance music themed around travel, love and madness. We give entertaining and informative performances, interacting and talking to the audience about the cultural background of the pieces as we share the results of our research. The ensemble has performed in a wide variety of venues from community fairs and cafes to more formal concerts. The highlight of this year was winning the Trinity College of Music Early Music Prize and being invited to perform at the 10th anniversary of the Greenwich International Festival of Early Music in November 2011. We use voices and a range of historical instruments – including harps, viola da gamba, percussion and recorders – in different combinations to create an exciting variety of sound.
So do come along and experience for yourself the fascinating array of sounds from the past.
More details about the group (including sound files) and ticket information can be found on the website: www.ensembletramontana.co.uk
