Playalong Consort Music

While we are currently not able to meet in person to play, various musicians have been recording playalong consort music available to purchase and download.

Emma Murphy “Consort With Me” (Recorders)

Play in a ‘Consort With Me’!  We’re all missing making music with others, so this is the next best thing…  This membership gets you three Blog posts of consort videos (each post is c.8-9 minutes) for you to play along to.  I have included links to the free music downloads and I tell you which part is missing for you to play.  All SATB recorders are used.  The first Blog includes three madrigals by Weelkes and Parsons’ Ave Maria – glorious stuff!

The City Musick “The Corona Consort Karaoke” (Renaissance Wind including Recorders)

We all miss playing ensemble music, so we at The City Musick have spent several weeks remotely recording and preparing some of our favourite pieces for various combinations of wind, brass and reed instruments — so you can play along with us!  The instrumentation is deliberately varied, including mixed consorts of cornetts, shawms, dulcians and sackbuts, whole consorts of recorders, shawms and crumhorns and other combinations. You don’t have to have one of the specified instruments in order to play along, as the parts can be played on any instrument of your choice!

David Hatcher “Consort Music Minus One” (Viola da Gamba)
