The SRP National Festival 2022 will be hosted by Suffolk branch from 22-24 April in Ipswich. It will be held at Chantry Academy, Ipswich, IP2 9LR

Ipswich, our county town, received its Royal Charter in 1200 and has many historic buildings including the 14th century Ancient House, and Christchurch Mansion, a substantial Tudor house in its own grounds. It also has a vibrant waterfront with hotels and restaurants.  Further afield, Suffolk has many beautiful places to visit, including the coastal towns of Felixstowe, Aldeburgh (home of Benjamin Britten), and Southwold (home of Adnams). Inland you will find the Dedham Vale, still as recognisable today as it was when painted by Constable and Gainsborough, plus the ancient town of Bury St Edmunds (home of Greene King). Other breweries are available!

FESTIVAL OVERVIEW

Friday
The SRP Delegates Conference will be held in the afternoon. A buffet supper will be followed at 7:30 by an evening concert presented by Parandrus (Daniel Swani, Grace Shih and Thomas Pickering).
Saturday
The day opens with massed playing of a commissioned piece at 10am. There will then be 5 sessions during the day with a choice of up to 7 conductors (ranging from easy to very difficult). In the evening there will be a participative performance of the Masque of Oberon.
Sunday
There will be 3 multi-choice sessions (similar to Saturday) starting at 9.30 and a final massed playing after lunch, ending at 3.30.

As always, there will be a range of shops, including instrument makers, repairers and music publishers.
