We  normally meet at Park Hall, Leyton Road, Harpenden AL5 2LX on Saturdays from 2.30pm to 5.45pm, with a tea break at 4.00. See the venue page for details.

All music is provided. Most has parts for soprano (descant), alto (treble), tenor and bass, and some require sopranino, great bass and contrabass. The last two are often used to double the tenor and bass parts.

The branch exists to enable players to enjoy making music together. Newcomers are especially welcome. If you wish to join in then just turn up with your recorder(s) and music stand and introduce yourself. If you would like to know more beforehand then contact the secretary or visit the SRP web site for information. You can join the SRP,and as a member you would receive The Recorder Magazine quarterly.

Subscriptions 2015 – 2016

The fees for membership comprise two elements, one for the SRP centre, the other for our branch. The SRP Conference agreed to maintain its levy on members at the current rate. Our branch, however, is having to pay increasing costs for the hire of the room and other items, and that means that we must increase that element of the annual subscription, which incidentally has not increased since 2011.

The membership rates for 2015-16 will be £46.00 for Full Members and $22.50 for both Students and Associate Members. The fee for attendance at meetings remains £1.00 for members, but will increase to £5.00 for visitors, which is the amount charged by most
other branches.

Please consider adding a donation to the Society’s Walter Bergmann Fund which assists the development of young recorder players.

Subscriptions are due by the end of October at latest. If you miss the deadline you will not receive the magazine and will have to attend meetings as a visitor.
