Park Hall is closed until further notice due to the coronavirus. Please see the programme for more information. Our Playing Day on Sunday 28th June with Michelle Holloway has unfortunately had to be cancelled as Park Hall will not be open for us to book as a large group. Trevor Boyd our Treasurer will be contacting those of you who have booked. We hope to rebook Michelle at a later date.
We normally meet at Park Hall, Leyton Road, Harpenden AL5 2LX on the second Saturdays of the months but sometimes we have to change the date as it clashes with something else. In April it will be the first Saturday (4th) and June the 3rd Saturday(20th). August will be the 3rd Saturday (15th) The session lasts from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm with the doors opening at 2pm for setting up. There is a tea break at 3:40. See the venue page and the programme page for further details.
All music is provided. Most has parts for soprano (descant), alto (treble), tenor and bass, and some require sopranino, great bass and contrabass. The last two are often used to double the tenor and bass parts.
The branch exists to enable players to enjoy making music together. Newcomers are especially welcome. If you wish to join in then just turn up with your recorder(s) and music stand and introduce yourself. If you would like to know more beforehand then contact the secretary or visit the SRP web site for information. You can join the SRP, and as a member you would receive The Recorder Magazine quarterly.
The membership rates are currently £48 for Full Member, £23 for Associate Member, and £15 for Student or Young Player. The fee for attendance at meetings remains £1.00 for members and £5.00 for visitors. Subscriptions are due by the end of October at the latest.
Please consider adding a donation to the Society’s Walter Bergmann Fund which assists the development of young recorder players.
