The Eastern Recorder Orchestra (EROS) was started in 2007 with the aim of giving more competent players of Grade 6 and above (or equivalent) the experience of playing music written or arranged specifically for recorder orchestra. There are about 30 members in the orchestra who come from all over East Anglia. Conducted by Moira Usher the repertoire extends from 14c to 21c (Renaissance to Jazz) and the orchestra performs concerts in June at the end of each season.

Are you looking for a challenge?  Ever wished you could play in an orchestra but thought you would never have the opportunity?  Well, here is your chance.

EROS will be embarking on its 14th season in October with Moira Usher, our conductor, at Bentley Village Hall near Ipswich in Suffolk.

We are now able to take further applicants for 2021/2022.  We are looking for competent recorder players (of at
least Grade 6 standard or equivalent) who would enjoy playing challenging music and would also be prepared to PRACTISE!

You must be able to play both F and C instruments.  You would need to be available to play in the morning of (usually) the 3rd Saturday of each month between October and June.

Our first meeting will be on Saturday 16 October 2021 from 9.45 to 12.45 and then:

  • 20 November,
  • 18 December
  • 15 January 2022,
