Hexachordia presents a celebration of the English garden in music, song and words. Playing on authentic copies of original instruments from the medieval and Tudor eras such as the harp, recorders, gittern, lute and viols, the group performs music inspired by formal gardens and the English countryside.
This music is interspersed with readings contemporary with the pieces, reflecting on the evolution of the English garden through to the seventeenth century.
