Summer Recorder Festival

Recorders For All (Jan Epps and Pam Smith). A weekend of recorder playing at Dean Close Boarding School, Cheltenham.

Residents £275 (including all meals); Non-residents £200 (including all meals except breakfast)

Tutors: Andrew Challinger, Helen Hooker, Annabel Knight, Pam Smith, Moira Usher, Sarah Whomersley and Robin Bigwood. All music will be provided.

Timetable: Throughout Saturday and Sunday there will be ‘very hard’ (VH), ‘moderately hard’ (MH) and two ‘moderate’ (M) options. There will also be a fifth option which will involve Robin Bigwood on keyboard, featuring repertoire for several recorders with keyboard, plus a workshop ‘An Introduction to Figured Bass’ and a session for ‘reluctant accompanists’ (please indicate on the application form if you are interested in any of the keyboard sessions). On the Saturday evening there will be a massed playing session with a difference! More details will follow.

Venue: Dean Close School (situated just off the A40, five minutes’ drive from junction 11 of the M5 and Cheltenham Spa railway station). Ample free parking on the site. Cheltenham town centre is 10-15 min away on foot. Free Wi-Fi. Further information www.deanclosevenues.co.uk

Meals & refreshments included

Accommodation: single rooms (shared bedrooms for couples are available) with various bathroom and semi-en-suite facilities. There are no en-suite rooms.

Disabled access: Dean Close School has wheelchair access and disabled toilets but access to some areas is not possible, including some of the playing rooms. If you have a disability and would like further information about the facilities, please contact Jan.
