Helen Hooker studied the recorder at Trinity College of Music under Philip Thorby, graduating in 1993 with a first class degree and the Post-Graduate Certificate in performance with distinction. She now enjoys a varied career, including a mixture of performing, conducting, teaching, arranging, writing and photography.

Helen conducts the Thames Valley and Mellow Tones Recorder Orchestras and is a director of The Recorder Summer School. She has a passion for teaching adult recorder players and spends much of her working life tutoring ensembles and SRP branches all over the British Isles. Helen's book, Recorder Technique: a guide to the basics and beyond, has been serialised in The Recorder Magazine.

The Programme will comprise a variety of musical styles, from Renaissance to the present day, with something for everyone, including:
