Welcome to the website of Guildford SRP

We meet on the third Saturday of the month at East Horsley Village Hall, from 2.00pm to 5.00pm.  Occasionally the meeting may have to take place on the second Saturday of the month (because of Christmas, Easter or venue booking difficulties) so please check the programme page for dates.  We have a mid-afternoon break – we provide refreshments but please bring your own mug.  We play music from all periods – from early medieval to late 20th century, and contemporary composers.

Our membership year starts in September with the following dates set for 2024- 2025

21 September 2024 (AGM prior to playing)

19 October 2024

16 November 2024

14 December 2024

18 January 2025

15 February 2025

15 March 2025

26 April 2025

21 June 2025 (Playing Day)

19 July 2025

See the programme page for dates and details.

As well as monthly sessions, we hold a Playing Day each year – a whole day’s playing with a guest conductor. All are welcome, and this event attracts many outside visitors.

We do not have a Music Director currently but enjoy a wide variety of conductors throughout the year.

We warmly welcome all ‘ages and stages’ of player; our aim is to enjoy playing and learning together. We welcome all sizes of recorder from contra bass up to sopranino and the playing standard of our members varies from post beginner to diploma level. We look forward to welcoming new members.

Visitors are very welcome at meetings. Music is provided, but you will need to bring a music stand.

We meet in the Main Hall at East Horsley Village Hall:
