Welcome to the website of Guildford SRP
Sadly we are unable to meet as a branch at the moment due to Covid 19 restrictions, so our branch meeting are held on Zoom currently. Details are on the programme page.
We meet on the third Saturday of month at the East Horsley Village Hall, from 2.00pm to 5.00pm, with a break mid-afternoon for tea and a chat. We play music from all periods – from early medieval to late 20th century, and contemporary composers.
See the programme page for dates and details.
As well as monthly sessions, we have two Playing Days each year, in May and November – a whole day’s playing with a guest conductor. All are welcome, and this event attracts many outside visitors.
We do not have a Music Director currently but enjoy a wide variety of conductors throughout the year.
We warmly welcome all ‘ages and stages’ of player; our aim is to enjoy playing and learning together. We welcome all sizes of recorder from contra bass up to sopranino and the playing standard of our members varies from post beginner to diploma level. We look forward to welcoming new members.
Visitors are very welcome at meetings. Music is provided, but you will need to bring a music stand.
We meet in the Main Hall at East Horsley Village Hall:
East Horsley Village Hall is a modern conference style complex with step-free access. It is easily accessible by rail as well as road. Horsley station is just a short walk from the hall and there is a regular service from both London Waterloo and Guildford. If you are driving to the hall there is plenty of parking available.
New members are welcome at our meetings. You may wish to come along as a visitor first. If you decide to join the fee for the afternoon will be deducted from your membership subscription. 2019-20 annual subscriptions are below:
