Meetings are held at St Jude’s Community Hall, Atherstone Avenue, Peterborough, PE3 7EW (Click for Map) – 15 minutes walk from the town centre, rail and bus stations – where we play and enjoy a range of music arranged or composed for recorder ensemble. The hall has adequate disabled access and facilities, and is all  on one level. The car park is gravelled but with prior notice hard standing access could be reserved. Public transport links are provided by the frequent number 3 bus (destination Bretton Centre) from Queensgate Bus Station bay 2, or number 4 (destination City Hospital) from nearby bay 1a, which  have disabled facilities (“kneeling” buses equipped with ramps). It is quite possible, if not altogether straightforward, for a wheelchair user to reach Queensgate Bus Station from the Railway Station, assisted by lifts and ramps. If travelling by bus the stop to ask for is St Jude’s.

All that is required is a recorder or recorders, and a music stand. All music is provided. You need to be able to play most of the notes, but we are a mixed ability group and players looking to improve or brush up their skills are welcome.

On Saturdays we generally take a short break mid-session, at which tea/coffee and biscuits are provided free of charge.
