If you play the recorder and can sight-read music …

come to join us at the West Riding Branch of the Society of Recorder Players.  You will be very welcome AND YOUR FIRST SESSION IS FREE!

We meet on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, 2.00 – 4.30 pm,  either in Headingley (St Columba United Reformed Church  LS6 2DH) or in Saltaire (Saltaire Methodist Church  BD18 3HJ).

We charge £8 per person for the Saturday afternoon sessions, but these are free to paid-up members of the West Riding Branch, so do consider joining us. The annual membership fee is £60, or £25 for under-30s and full-time students. Our membership year runs from September to August.  For your membership fee you get free access to 20 playing sessions, split between our Saltaire and Headingley (Leeds) venues.  Look at our 2025/26 programme for more details.  We don’t meet in August.    Members also get a free monthly e-newsletter (by email) and a year’s free subscription to The Recorder Magazine, which is printed and published quarterly.

Our meetings provide regular opportunities to play recorders of all sizes with other enthusiasts. We get about 2 hours of playing each session, with a break mid-way, for refreshment and chat. We don’t provide refreshments or kitchen facilities, so please bring your own drinks and snacks.

All music is provided, but you need to bring your own music-stand and, of course, your recorders!  You do need to be able to sight-read the music; we don’t get it in advance.  We meet for the enjoyment of playing together.
