Cumbria SRP meet on the third Saturday of the month, with a break in August and December. This year we have a change, with a special meeting of Festive music on 12th December.

In 2026-7 we have a number of Playing Days and guest conductors attending. If you have recommendations for guest conductors or would like to join our panel of conductors, please contact the Secretary at  

Afternoon playing sessions are 2- 5 pm.  Full days is 10.00 to 4.30 pm with a break for lunch. The charge for visitors is £15.00 for a full day and £7.50 for a half day.  

Playing days booked so far in 2026-7 are: Mary Bonsor – November 2026; Michael Graham – January 2027; Conducting Workshop (provisonal ) February 2027; Miriam Monaghan  June 2027, all at Witherslack Parish Hall.

We have a booking system for all meetings including regular afternoon meetings. Visitors are very welcome, just email to be booked in, saying what instruments you plan to bring. There’s no need to pay in advance for our regular meetings, we will sort payment on arrival. We do require advance payment for Playing Days and Workshops. Please email if you need any advice on transport or disabled persons access to the hall..

17th October  2026– Playing 2- 5pm Terry Smurthwaite.

12th December 2026 – Seasonal music with Terry Smurthwaite – a special afternoon playing session, 2-5 pm before Terry retires.

16th January  2027 – playing day 10.am – 4.30 pm with with Michael Graham at Witherslack Parish Hall, LA11 6RW. Please email to book.

20th February 2027 -Provisional – Level 1 SRP Conducting Workshop, 10am – 16.30 pm at Witherslack Parish Hall, LA11 6RW. This course is hosted by Cumbria Branch for the SRP. All welcome but advance booking and payment of £15.00 for the full day is essential. Email as soon as the course is confirmed. 

20th March 2027 – 2-5 pm playing, conductor to be confirmed, at Witherslack Parish Hall, LA11 6RW.

17th April 2027  – 2-5 pm playing, conductor to be confirmed, at Witherslack Parish Hall, LA11 6RW.

15th May 2027 – 2-5 pm playing with guest conductor at Witherslack Parish Hall, LA11 6RW.  

19th June 2027 – Playing Day with Miriam Monaghan, 10am – 4.30pm. Visitor fee £15.00 for the full day, £7.50 for the half day, at Witherslack Parish Hall, LA11 6RW. Email to book.
