Cumbria SRP meet on the third Saturday of the month, with a break in August and December.

Afternoon sessions are 2- 5 pm, conducted by Terry Smurthwaite unless stated otherwise. In 2024-5 we hosted 2 playing days, with Mary Tyers ( November 2024) and Lydon Hilling ( June 2025)
We have two playing days in 2025-6 with guest conductors, 10.00 to 4.30 pm with a break for lunch. The charge for visitors is £15.00 for a full day and £7.50 for a half day. We are also hosting a SRP Workshop in March 2026, £15.00 for the day.
Playing days booked so far in 2025-6 are: Ann and Steve Marshall – Saturday 15th November 2025 at Witherslack Parish Hall; and Caroline Jones – Saturday 20th June 2026, at Witherslack Parish Hall.
Michael Copley’s workshop on 21st March is CANCELLED. However we have been fortunate to secure Mary Tyers for the day, who will be presenting her workshop on Recorder Ensemble Technique. Whether you are a new player, or more experienced, you will gain insights into how to work on your technique when playing with other people. This is an SRP sponsored Workshop. Date: Saturday 21st March 2026. Times: 10.00 – 4.30pm with a break for lunch. Venue: Witherslack Parish Hall. The charge is £15.00 for the full day, advance booking and payment required for this day. We have a booking system for all meetings including regular afternoon meetings. Visitors are very welcome, just email to be booked in, saying what instruments you plan to bring. There’s no need to pay in advance for our regular meetings, we will sort payment on arrival. We do require advance payment for Playing Days and Workshops.
