Give Me Your Hand Ruaidri Dall (blind Rory) O Cathain was born in County Antrim during the 1580s. Unusually for a travelling harper he was of noble birth who spent most of his career in Scotland, where he performed for King James 1. During a visit to Eglinton Castle in Ayrshire, Lady Eglinton, unaware of his noble rank but hearing he was a harper, ordered him to perform at which he took great offence. This piece resulted from the reconcilliation the lady of the house effected once she discovered her mistake.
