Glasgow Playday     2026     Saturday 30th May Conducted by Lyndon Hilling

9th May 2026 Scottish Recorder Festival – Edinburgh, Philip Thorby Principal Conductor

The Glasgow Recorder Players perform at a number of venues in and around Glasgow. This is not a compulsory activity, members volunteer to do so, but we find it is a good way of publicising the instrument. We have performed in the Burrell Museum most recently on 4th November 2023. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Sherbrooke St. Gilbert’s are other venues in which we have oerformed.

We also have a smaller, more informal group called the Kinmount Players, that meet at a member’s house. They perform gigs in local more intimate venues around Glasgow with a view to introducing a wider audience to the range of instruments.

The Scottish Recorder Orchestra

Some members of the Glasgow Recorder Players are also members of the Scottish Recorder Orchestra. The players gather from all over Scotland, from as far north as Inverness down to Glasgow, Strathclyde, Edinburgh and the Borders.

Residential weekend Tulliallan for orchestra members 6-8th October 2023. The next concert date is in Glasgow 2nd June 2024.
