North West Early Music Forum
Summer School of Renaissance Music

Trafford Hall, Chester
Trafford Hall is a grade 2 listed building near to Chester.
Summer School provides an opportunity for musicians to study Renaissance music and performance practice in a happy, relaxed and informal atmosphere. Applications are invited from experienced early music enthusiasts, and from musicians with less knowledge and experience of Renaissance music who are seeking an introduction to the field. Music from Venice will particularly feature this year.
Students with an interest in the music of the Renaissance period will find the Summer School a useful complement to their academic studies, since it has a strong historical focus as well as a practical bias.  Some bursaries may be available for students.
Tuition is given in consort playing and singing, these teaching sessions are complemented by workshops, lectures and seminars covering a wide range of historical topics, performance practice, or wider cultural issues.
Specialist tuition is available for singers, and for players of the viol, lute, and recorder.
Our tutors are:- Grace Barton, Deborah Catterall, Elizabeth Dodd, Martin Eastwell, David Hardie, and Peter Syrus.
Application forms and brochures are available on the NWEMF web site www.nwemf.org.uk  see also www.facebook.com/nwemf
